A DANGEROUS METHOD

What is the right way to discover everything that our unconscious hides from others? What is the right way to heal someone who cannot accept their impulses? There are so many things that aren’t told to anyone, not even a doctor. But is it worth keeping everything and getting sick in order not to accept yourself?

I’m not even sure if there was a movie made
But with my limited knowledge and understanding of both Freud and Jung, I still think that Alice Walker’s book The Temple of My Familiar would’ve made a great study and depiction of Jung and Freud, because she cuts her teeth brilliantly in the written word on this topic, the Jungian Method.
Who wrote the book A Dangerous Method, that moved the great DS?

The book was written by John Kerr. I know Alice Walker very well, I have read her book “The Color Purple” and I have also seen the film.
They are two films with very different themes.

Yes, the Colour Purple deals as you say with different themes. The film centres around Celie and all her sorrows and woes as she slowly begins to discover herself and all the contradictory relationships with the men and women in her life and the influence of her beloved Shug, looking after Shug Avery towards the quiet of their days, the two women become lovers. Many themes were thoroughly explored in both the book and the film. Alice Walker was oft rapped across the fingers for her outstanding contribution to what she coined as Womanism, raising issues way ahead of their time.
Apologies for the wrong title, the book i was actually referring to is Possessing the Secret of Joy, by Alice Walker, which deals with female mutilation and discovering feel through therapy.
I’ve never read John Kerr. Thank you, I shall read some reviews.
