OKTOBER SPIRIT

LET’S GO BACK ON THE GROUND

When I look at my animals I see a substantial difference between us humans and them. We have lost direct contact with the ground. The upright position acquired gave us a different view but detached us from the ground, which was the origin of our being. If it is true that we were first fish and then crawling snakes, then to return to ourselves we must return to land. I don’t know if you have a garden or a wood near you. Take off your shoes, socks and get on the floor. Touch the earth with your hands, dig, rasp and start smelling, looking down. It smells everything. Use your nails, dig, tear, go back to where you came from. There will be scents that will come to you, you will see insects, things you don’t look at. Why men have stopped looking. Listens. Dig and see and listen. Our life has become all artificial. We have lost contact with the earth. We need to get back to the ground to get a better look at who we are, where we come from, and where we will go. On the ground, smell the smells. Do not have any perfume on you except our animal smell. Being on the ground and listening to ourselves, all of Nature, listening to the world from which we came and which we are losing. We have to go back to the roots, to the height of the roots, stay down, lying on the ground, remember what we have been because we have lost the right way. We have lost our true inner nature. We humans have become destructive, selfish, unscrupulous. Then we return to the kingdom made of earth and not to the concrete one in which we caged ourselves. We need to get out of these concrete cells. Returning to the open air, returning to what we had and what we are now losing. We have lost the memory of our animal past. We have built a civilization against human nature, against life itself on this earth. We are guilty of having been perpetrators of ourselves. So let’s lie down where the leaves live, where the insects breathe, where the flowers grow, where the mud has covered us for centuries and centuries. We return to our earthly origin and only in this way will we be able to rise up and save this world in destruction.

THE ENGLISH TEA

I love to travel but at the same time I find it stressful. Above all, pack your suitcase, arrange things in bags and backpacks, try not to forget anything, queue at the airport, get up very early to catch your flight or late in the evening, look for places where you can eat local food (because they are nowhere to be found ) and then walking around and around, and you get tired after a few days and you want to go home but you like that place, it’s inspiring. We have never brought our cats and dog, both because they are used to the garden and therefore would suffer to stay in the hotel and because we usually have someone to leave them to take care of them. I don’t like always going to the same places but I like to discover different places. I hate the scorching heat and love milkshakes. Especially in the summer, my day starts with fresh fruit blended with rice or oat milk. Strawberries, kiwis, watermelon and grapes, peaches and melon. In the summer I only like the sea. Hornets and wasps of all kinds arrive and I can’t stand not being able to stay in my garden and I can’t keep the windows open and it’s a stressful mess. I lived in London and had contact with English people (of English origin) of a certain age who explained to me the right way in which they made tea. Sachets are never used but only dried leaf tea. The teapot must first be heated with hot water, which must be left inside the teapot for 6-7 minutes (never rinsed and never cleaned). Then after you remove the hot water from the teapot and put about 3-4 teaspoons of dried leaf tea, cover with the lid and wait 5 minutes for the whole teapot to take in the aroma of the tea. Only then can you pour in the hot water and wait another 5 minutes. Then you put the strainer hanging from the spout of the teapot, or on the cups, and pour the tea as it is. The teapot is never cleaned, it is absolutely forbidden to touch it and the more the years pass, the better the tea made in the same teapot becomes. In the English style, slices of lemon are never combined but only milk. And it is drunk with a cucumber sandwich or with typical English sweets.
