DEEP FAKE REALISTIC BY AI

Can you believe that is not Tom Cruise? It’s an incredibly accurate deepfake created by the AI startup Metaphysics. Metaphysics created AI content generation tools and infrastructure that lets users own and control their biometric data – and they built “DeepTomCruise”, a TikTok account showing off their Tom Cruise deepfake, that has 5 million followers today. The company just announced that they’d be working with Hollywood producers on the film “Here”, starring legendary Tom Hanks and Robin Wright using the technology to present younger versions of their characters. The lines of reality and AI-generated content starting to blur more and more. We’re starting to see it in the entertainment and other industries. Soon, it will be impossible to distinguish with our human eyes whats real and whats AI-generated? What do you think of this development? What do you see as potential advantages and risks? Let’s discuss it in the comments.

A very good likeness that the idea is rather scary because there will be someone who will use this technology for the wrong reasons.

I’ll bite. I hate this. Truly. I try to use that word sparingly. But think: an evil state could use deepfake to frame anybody. Justice would become obsolete, if used in the wrong hands. Combined with fallible, reprogrammable A.I.? Not good. I can think of nothing about it worth the risk.

It’s almost impossible to know whom to believe these days. I had reached the point where I don’t believe what I read (Anyone can write anything.) and would only believe what I see in a video. Apparently now that’s not going to be reliable, either. :/
